A technician inspects the vehicle, explains what was found and gives a vehicle-specific estimate before work begins.

Oil & Maintenance
Fresh engine oil and the correct oil filter support engine lubrication. Chicago Express Auto Service offers oil changes at our South Ashland Avenue shop. The right oil specification matters as much as the interval; the recommended grade and capacity depend on your engine.
Learn moreBrakes
Brake noise, vibration or a change in pedal feel deserves an inspection. A complete brake concern may involve more than pads: rotors, calipers, hydraulic components and drum brake hardware can all affect operation. This page is the overview for our brake services in Chicago.
Learn moreBattery & Electrical
A slow start can interrupt an otherwise ordinary day. Battery service helps determine whether the battery itself needs attention or whether a connection, starter or charging concern deserves a closer look. A voltage reading alone does not explain every no-start problem.
Learn moreDiagnostics & Tune-Ups
A dashboard warning light is a starting point for investigation. A diagnostic computer scan retrieves available trouble codes from supported vehicle systems. A code describes a detected condition; it does not by itself prove that a particular sensor or part has failed.
Learn moreSteering & Suspension
Struts are structural suspension assemblies on vehicles designed with them. Wear can affect damping and ride behavior, but a clunk or bounce may also involve mounts, links or other parts. Strut service should follow an inspection of the relevant assembly.
Learn moreCooling & Belts
Engine coolant helps manage temperature and protects compatible cooling-system materials. Coolant service replaces old fluid using the correct product and procedure for the vehicle. It is separate from repairing a coolant leak, a failed thermostat or another cause of overheating.

An oil change interval should start with the guidance for your particular vehicle. Two cars that travel the same roads can still have different engine oil requirements. Engine design, oil specification, driving conditions and the manufacturer's schedule all matter. Treat a general mileage number as a question to check, rather than a rule that applies to every engine.
Read guide 02Brake service is a broad term. Pads, rotors and hydraulic fluid work together, but each addresses a different part of the braking system. Understanding those roles can make an inspection conversation clearer. It can also help you avoid assuming that one familiar service is the answer to every squeal, vibration or change in pedal feel.
Read guide 03A vehicle that will not start can have more than one explanation. The battery, starter, charging system and electrical connections all play a role. A single sound or dashboard message rarely establishes the full diagnosis. Describing what happens when you try to start the vehicle gives the shop a better starting point than requesting a particular replacement without testing.
Read guide 04An engine air filter and a cabin air filter both filter air, but they serve different systems. The engine filter protects the intake air path. The cabin filter serves the ventilation air entering the passenger compartment. Understanding the distinction helps when you request a filter inspection or try to describe reduced airflow inside the vehicle.
Read guide 05Routine coolant maintenance and cooling-system repair are different requests. Replacing old coolant follows a maintenance plan. Fixing a leak or an overheating complaint requires finding the cause. The distinction matters because fresh fluid cannot be promised to repair a damaged hose, a faulty thermostat or another component problem.
Read guide 06Ride and wheel-end concerns can be difficult to describe. A repeated bounce, a clunk over a bump and a humming sound at road speed may point toward different areas. Shocks, struts and wheel bearings have distinct jobs, and similar noises can also come from tires or other parts. Inspection is more useful than choosing a replacement from the sound alone.
